Yahoo! scraps several websites

22/12/2010
In another blow to Yahoo! the internet service provider has announced it is “sunsetting” several of its websites after undertaking an evaluation of its portfolio of products.

In a statement to Search Engine Land, Yahoo! confirmed that it was scrapping sites including AltaVista and Buzz. These sites were once popular but have since been overtaken by Google’s sites offering similar services.

Analysts claim all the sites are powered by Bing and therefore offer nothing different from the main Yahoo! search engine.
