The Times and Sunday Times go to the paywall

31/05/2010
From next month, UK newspapers The Sunday Times and The Times will be accessible online only to those readers who pay a fee.

The newspapers' owner, News Corporation, has already unveiled the new-look multimedia-rich websites in advance of the paywall date.

There are a lot fewer stories on the websites and these won’t be appearing on news aggregation sites like Google News.

A spokesperson said that the newspapers were aiming to build meaningful and real relationships between readers and journalists.

Our customers and their online visitors love the news articles from Newsvend - and so do the search engines.

We are now on the top page of results for all our main search terms. The website news feed appears instantly; we don't have to do anything!'

I am very happy with the service... in the next few months I want to start using your [online news] service for another website. Partner, law firm (Florida, US)
