Online news sources have now displaced newspapers as the second most popular method for Americans to get their daily news. National and local television are just hanging on to the top spot.
That’s according to a survey carried out earlier this year by the Pew Research Center.
61 percent of people questioned in the survey said they regularly read news online. Most of those watching or reading their news over the internet say that they typically check out between two to five different websites for news content each day.
The study also showed that a third of mobile phone users access news over their handsets.
