Ofcom finds people trust web news more than TV news

01/06/2010
Internet users now trust the news they read online more than the news they watch on television.

This is according to the results of a survey carried out by Ofcom, which wanted to look at how media-literate British adults have become.

The results showed that 58 per cent of internet users said they trusted the news websites they use, while only 54 per cent said they trusted the television news programmes they watch.

Ofcom's survey results are indicative of a society moving increasingly towards the web for their news, and away from traditional news sources like newspapers and television.

Our customers and their online visitors love the news articles from Newsvend - and so do the search engines.

We are now on the top page of results for all our main search terms. The website news feed appears instantly; we don't have to do anything!'
