Users of the iPad are expected to use the new Apple device mainly for browsing the internet, with 34 per cent of prospective buyers saying they will read online news through the device.
Although largely intended as an e-reader or a device for watching online videos, half of all those surveyed by comScore said they will simply use it for browsing the internet and watching news. The iPad, which has a much larger screen than the iPhone or the iPod, is expected to offer an alternative to newspapers for news fans around the world.
