Firms need help with SEO according to research

22/06/2009
According to a new piece of research, three-quarters of firms could benefit from hiring a dedicated search engine marketing firm to improve their site’s content in terms of search engine optimisation.

The poll, undertaken by [x+1], a predictive marketing company, found that businesses were keen to up their spend on SEO but that few were happy with their current ability to optimise their search engine placing via their content.

The research found that the SEO market is strong. Some 65.4% of firms questioned wanted to maintain or increase their level of spending on SEO this year, while 13.1% plan to increase investment by 20% or more. In addition, almost half of respondents said the recession has not impacted their spend on online search engine marketing.

However, only 21% said they were happy with their ability to attract searchers to their web pages and optimise their site in terms of keywords.

Such firms would benefit greatly from the help of a dedicated content and news provider with SEO expertise. The inclusion of unique, relevant content that is keyword-rich and interesting to readers not only propels a website’s towards the top of the search engine results pages, but also increases the average number of page views per visitor and encourages visitors to return to the site regularly.
