The Guardian has emerged victorious at the AOP Digital Publishing Awards 2010, taking home six awards for the best use of video and digital publishing in the consumer category.
The media group managed to moved in on territory that had been commandeered by the Telegraph group last year and took home the most awards of any organisation.
The Guardian took accolades for Launch, Research & Insights Project and Innovation. Reporter Matthew Weaver won the best digital editorial individual for his nine years at the front of guardian.co.uk's content.
The judges said of Warner, "As an on-the-ground reporter he has driven innovation through his enthusiastic adoption of new tools such as Audioboo and Twitter to enhance his journalism. Best of all, he is a generous teacher who shares his skill and collaborates with his colleagues."
The Telegraph did not go away empty-handed, however, scooping best editorial team in the consumer category for its MPs expenses scoops.
The awards were held at Camden's Roundhouse, and hosted by television presenter Suzi Perry. IPC won the top award for best consumer website for NME.com, while RBI took the business equivalent for Flightglobal.
Janine Gibson, editor of guardian.co.uk, said, "This is a tribute to the hard work of a fantastic team. We are delighted to have this recognition."
