Bing may replace Google as iPhone search engine

05/05/2010
In what could turn out to be a seismic shift in the search engine marketplace, Apple is rumoured to be making Bing the default search engine on its popular iPhone.

Microsoft’s Bing search engine is used for 10 percent of internet searches in the US, but only 3 percent worldwide. Grabbing the default search off Google on all iPhones and iPads would generate an instant lift in business.

Apple and Microsoft are understood to be concerned about the growing popularity of Google’s Android mobile phone platform.
